Milan is a paradise for millionaires: the city has the highest percentage of millionaires in the world among registered residents, the Italian economic daily “Il Sole-24 Ore” reported on Friday. Based on a report by a London consulting company, the newspaper noted that every 12th resident of the capital of Lombardy is a millionaire.

Analyzing data from the ranking of the richest cities in the world, the daily noted that Milan, whose population is approximately 1.3 million, is home to 115,000 millionaires. This means that there is one millionaire for every 12 inhabitantscounting everyone registered in the population register, including newborns.
For comparison, as noted, the report shows that in New York there is a millionaire for every 22 people, and in London – for every 41 people.
In the case of Paris, within its “walls”, i.e. the administrative boundaries of the city proper, but without the suburbs, there lives one millionaire for every 14 inhabitants.
As noted by an Italian daily, the indicator for people with liquid assets above $100 million is even more telling. There are currently 182 of them in Milan, which is almost the same as in the Principality of Monaco (192).
Moreover, the Italian city, which is a center of business, finance and fashion, is, along with Dubai and Miami, listed among those for which a high increase in the number of millionaires is predicted. (PAP)
