The Romanian M 270 minesweeper executes a mission in the Black Sea, alongside ships from Bulgaria and Turkey

The Romanian mine hunter M 270 “Sublieutenant Ion Ghiculescu” participates, along with three partner ships from Bulgaria and Turkey, in the eighth activation of the Black Sea Sea Mine Countermeasures Task Force

The mission, which began on January 6, lasts until Sunday, January 18.
“On Saturday, January 17, the four ships from the composition of the group docked in the military port of Constanța, to restore the combat capacity and to analyze the activities carried out in the last days at sea, during a working meeting held at the headquarters of the Fleet Command “Vice Admiral Vasile Urseanu”, in the presence of the commander of the structure, Rear Admiral Cornel-Eugen Cojocaru”, the Romanian Naval Forces sent, on Saturday, in a statement.

During the mission, together with the three partner ships from Bulgaria and Turkey, the commander ship TCG Ütğm Arif Ekmekçi (A 575), the minesweeper TCG Ayvalık (M 267) and the maritime dredger BGS Priboy (M 63), the Romanian minesweeper M 270 carried out anti-mine research, surveillance of the maritime space, as well as joint training, contributing to ensuring freedom of navigation in the basin Black Seas.

“By participating in the MCM BS TG activations, the Romanian Naval Forces contribute to the fulfillment of our country's commitment to strengthening regional security and ensuring maritime traffic, in the context of the current risks generated by the presence of navigational hazards in the Black Sea”, it still shows Romanian Naval Forces.
The mine hunter M 270 “Sublieutenant Ion Ghiculescu” has a crew of 43 soldiers and is commanded by Captain-Commander Denis Giubernea.
