Cătălin Cîrjan recounts the scenes in the locker room, when the colleagues found out about the offer: “I tell you what they were shouting”

The 'Dogs' midfielder has been in the spotlight this mercato period. Dinamo received an offer of 4.5 million euros from Metalist Kharkiv, but the footballer refused it and preferred to stay in the Super League for two reasons: he did not feel that it would be a big enough step in his career and the fight for the title with the “dogs”.

Today, Cirjan explained his decision. He specified that not everything boils down to money, and the objective is the title with Dinamo.

He also told how his colleagues joked in the locker room about the fact that he was going to earn a lot of money in Ukraine.

“I also saw what happened in the media, there was a lot of news, but, honestly, my thoughts were still on football. What can I say, there was a lot of talk about it, that it was a very good offer, advantageous for the club as well. I had little to think about, but that's how I was raised.

It's not all about money in life, at least that's what my family and I believe. I don't think it was a step forward in terms of football and, last but not least, I made a promise to the Dynamo fans. I said I want to take the title and I want to follow through on that promise.

That's what I want. I want to give my best in these six months. I really feel like we can do this. We are in a good position and I really want the fans to come to the stadium with us and take the title.

(Was the war in Ukraine a reason?) The situation is uncertain there, but clearly the footballers who go there think they have extra security. I didn't think much of it.

I talked with mystery, with Andrei (Nicolescu), with the patrons and I want to thank them too, because I felt that they were by my side and they feel that we can do a good job in this championship. As I said, my soul is in Dinamo and I want to finish this championship here”, said the “decarul” of Dynamo.

“I'm happy when offers come, because my work is rewarded. It's not all about money, I didn't think about that. First of all, that's my goal, to play with Dinamo in Europe.

I can't say that I necessarily thought about my image. That's just what I felt, to stay. I'm not done here. I still have a lot of work to do. To be honest, I'm happy. I received a lot of messages, I feel the love of the supporters and I hope to repay them on the field, with my game”, explained Cîrjan.
