On frosty days, as a rule, the number of fires in vehicles increases. First of all, this is due to the fact that car owners, when warming up their cars, use various heaters and insulation materials, not always observing fire safety rules, the department reminds.

So, on January 14 in Yeniseisk on the street. Kirov's UAZ car burned down. 6 people and 2 pieces of equipment fought the fire.

On January 12, a truck burned down on the Northern Highway in Krasnoyarsk. No one was hurt. The fire was extinguished by 10 people and 2 pieces of equipment.

To prevent a fire in your car, follow the recommendations:

  • Do not heat the car with an open fire – using a blowtorch or a gas torch, as this can lead to a fire. Try to use only closed heat exposure;
  • do not use homemade devices or devices not intended for warming up the car;
  • warm up the car in several stages, gradually increasing the thermal effect;
  • if you fail to start the engine after 3-4 attempts, take a short pause, then try again;
  • if you cannot start the engine yourself, contact specialized companies for help;
  • do not cover the engine with old outerwear or a blanket – it may catch fire;
  • do not install home-made electrical equipment in the car for heating;
  • Do not leave switched on electric heaters in the car unattended – this may cause a fire.

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that in every car it is compulsory there must be a fire extinguisher. In the event of a fire, he will help save not only his car, but also help other drivers.
