The new arena would seat 15,000 and cost approx 100 million euros. The National Investment Company (CNI) announced, through social networks, that the works on the “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium can begin.

The new stadium of FC Argeș should be ready in 26 months.

Today, at 11:00 a.m., the National Investment Company handed over the site to the Erbașu Construction Association (Leader), Terra Gaz Construct SRL in the presence of utility providers. This is the moment that marks the actual start of work on the “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium.

The event took place in the presence of CNI representatives, the builder and the local authorities.
The contract has an execution term of 26 months and in the following period the builder will organize the construction site, mobilize the machines and set up the platform necessary to carry out the works.

This is the first concrete step towards a modern stadium, built to international standards, worthy of history and its supporters, on the site of the arena that wrote history and bore the name of the legendary Nicolae Dobrin.

Demolition work on the old arena began in 2023 and was completed in August 2025. The arena would be ready for use in the spring of 2028.

What facilities will the new “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium have:

  • Capacity: Approximately 15,000 seats.

  • standard: Aimed to be a UEFA 4-star stadium by modern standards.

  • Multifunctionality: Designed for football, but also for other events (concerts, conferences).

  • Services: Retail spaces, restaurants, public service areas.

  • Modern infrastructure: Changing rooms, press facilities, protocol area, etc

FC Argeș debuts in 2026 on its own ground, in Mioveni. On Friday, January 16, they will receive a visit from FCSB, in the 22nd stage of the Superliga.
