In mid-June 2025, LOT Polish Airlines announced that they would purchase a new fleet of aircraft for regional connections from Airbus. The contract covers the delivery of 40 A220 aircraft in the -100 and -300 versions, and its total value is approximately USD 9 billion. The first plane is to join the LOT fleet by mid-2027, and deliveries are to last until 2031. The contract includes an option to purchase another 44 machines of this type. Airbus's competitor in this tender was the Brazilian Embraer.
