The iconic Polish Bartek SA collapsed. The brand begins a “new stage”


At the beginning of January, we informed that the District Court Lublin-Wschód formally declared Bartek SA bankrupt from Mińsk Mazowiecki. Despite this, the brand will continue to operate on the market, as reported by Wojas, which took over the iconic brand a few years earlier.

For years, the Bartek SA company was considered the largest manufacturer of children's shoes in Poland. In October 2025, the court decided to declare the company bankrupt, and the decision became final in December.

All those who lamented the end of the children's footwear manufacturer will be reassured by the announcement from Wojas. “The information appearing in the media about the formal problems of Bartek SA does not mean the end of the well-known and appreciated brand of children's footwear. The Bartek brand will continue to operate on the market, and Wojas SA has been responsible for its development for several years,” wrote the company in a statement quoted by “Wiadomości Handlowe”.

The Wojas company took over the Bartek brand in 2019 and does not intend to liquidate it. On the contrary. “Under the wings of Wojas SA, the Bartek brand maintains its identity and key values such as high quality, care for the healthy development of children's feet and experience built over decades,” the statement said.
It was also emphasized that the Bartek brand will continue to be developed, and new products and entire collections of children's footwear will appear on the market, which are to respond “to current market needs.”

Wojas emphasizes that Bartek brand products will remain on sale in showrooms, on the website, and in almost 100 multi-brand stores.
According to the announcements of the Wojas company, reported by “Wiadomości Handlowe”, the Bartek brand is now in fact entering a new stage of development, which is based on “the combination of tradition with modern business facilities”.
