The former international Basarab Panduru made a surprise transfer proposal to Victor Angelescu, the Rapid official. It is about the right midfielder Olimpiu Moruțan (26 years old), currently at Aris Thessaloniki.
Greek journalists announced the other day that the Romanian international is no longer part of the team's plans for the second part of the season.
Panduru claims that Moruțan he would fit perfectly into the gear of the team prepared by Costel Gâlcă, but only in the position of number 10. Rapid is looking for a player in that position.

Victor Angelescu stated that Moruțan is an interesting footballer for the Superliga level, but the salary he earns in Greece, as is the case with Nicolae Stanciu in Italy, is high enough to be supported by a Romanian club.
“Have you ever thought about Moruțan? He has some problems with the club team. Moruțan is leaving Aris at the moment. I don't know if he has offers in Turkey, in Italy, Serie B, because he did something there, in Pisa, but that's exactly why we're talking about players like that.
He's interesting, he can play, and he has problems. Now there are several factors that keep them from coming. If you ask me, I see him playing number 10, so I would take him to Rapid. He played on the right, but I go to Moruțan and tell him to play in the center. Rapid doesn't need right or left.
He took his peak, in the lanes he doesn't need it. He needs a number 10. He doesn't have that much in the middle, he has Keita, Christensen, he also has Dobre, Petrila and Paraschiv. And then you need a number 10 to come and make a difference and believe that he can make a difference. I think that Moruțan and Stanciu can make the difference”, said Panduru, at Prima Sport.

And Angelescu's answer left no room for interpretation. Moruțan is a very good player for Romania, but his salary is very high.
“As with Stanciu, I suspect it's the same. It's clear that they are important players in our championship, they left for certain amounts of money, they earn certain amounts of money. The main thing is that they want to come back.
Well, clearly, the salaries they receive are salaries that no one in Romania can offer. And they must want it“, added the Rapid official.
Olimpiu Moruțan played 16 matches this season for Aris Thessaloniki. He is quoted by the specialized website Transfermarkt at 2 million euros.
U Cluj, FC Botoșani, FCSB, Galatasaray, Pisa, Ankaragucu, Pisa and Aris are the teams for which Moruțan played throughout his career.
