Head of IPJ Dolj, Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu
The chief inspector of IPJ Dolj, chief commissioner Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu, died on Saturday while he was in the office. The announcement was made by police officials, according to News.ro.
“The Dolj County Police Inspectorate informs with deep regret that today, January 10, the chief inspector of IPJ Dolj, Mr. Chief Commissioner Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu, passed away. The news of his disappearance represents a heavy loss for our institution. Throughout his career, Mr. Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu showed professionalism, responsibility and devotion to the mission of the Romanian Police, contributing significantly to the fulfillment of institutional objectives and the maintenance of public safety. The leadership of the Dolj County Police Inspectorate, together with the entire team, conveys sincere condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and all those who knew and appreciated him”, is the message published by the institution.
Representatives of IPJ Dolj specified for News.ro that Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu died at the office, most likely due to a heart attack.
They specified that the head of the institution was “an extraordinary man, who rarely left work before 7 p.m.”.
Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu was born in 1974 in Ştefăneşti, Argeş. Since 2024, he has held the position of deputy chief inspector of IPJ Dolj, and since November last year he won the competition for this position.
Previously, Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu headed the Anti-corruption Service of the Police, at the level of Argeş County.
A message of condolences was also sent by the Ministry of the Interior.

Police Chief Commissioner Marius-Daniel Mîrzacu will remain in our memory as a dedicated professional, who fulfilled his mission with responsibility, dignity and devotion to the citizens. Sincere condolences to the bereaved family! May God rest him in peace!”, stated the representatives of the ministry.
