The crew members of the An-2 plane that crashed in Kamchatka spent several days warming themselves by digging a hole in the snow. The plane had an accident due to extreme cold.
On the day of the crash, the plane's speed began to slow down due to frost. When it fell, it turned over because it was overloaded. To escape, the crew dug a hole, where they burned fuel and warmed themselves until rescuers arrived.
The pilots heard signals that they were being searched for, but due to bad weather they could not respond. So they were found by rescuers from the Kamchatka RPSB of the Federal Air Transport Agency and taken to the hospital with hypothermia. One pilot will undergo surgery; he has a closed head injury. The second one has a chest bruise.
