“Ten people, including three children, needed the support of the firemen to be able to continue their journey, after they got stuck in the snow with their cars”, ISU Botoşani announced on Friday morning.
The first intervention took place on the road between Ripiceni and Stânca, where a car containing two adults and a child ended up in the ditch on the side of the road, due to the layer of snow.
Firefighters from the Botoşani Detachment intervened on the scene, with a tracked vehicle. They managed to get the car out of the ditch, and the occupants were able to continue their journey towards Stânca-Costeşti Customs, after the road was cleared by the snow removal machines.
According to CNAIR, road traffic remains closed on DN 24C until 12 o'clock, between the towns of Rădăuți Prut and Manoleasa, Botoşani county, due to the blizzard. Initially, the restriction was announced until 8 o'clock.
Seven other people, in two cars, requested the help of the firemen after they got stuck in the snow on DJ 282, between Drăguşeni and Mihail Kogălniceanu.
One of the cars, in which there were three adults and two children, could not be removed from the snow. The people were picked up by the firefighters from the Săveni Station and transported to Botoşani, to their relatives. The second car was pulled out of the snow, and its occupants managed to return home safely.
“Furthermore, all the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, road workers, local authorities, as well as other institutions with attributions in the management of emergency situations generated by extreme weather phenomena act in an integrated system to ensure a prompt response to citizens' requests”, assured the representatives of ISU Botoşani.
