Several areas in Romania are under a weather warning on Friday morning of strong wind, blizzard snow and frost. It is driven in winter conditions on several roads in the country, according to the INFOTRAFFIC Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.

According to the quoted source, at the national level it is generally driven in winter conditions, with light, local precipitation, in the form of snow, with the road being covered with snow in some places.

Strong winds are reported especially in mountainous regions, blowing away the deposited snow and reducing visibility, according to the cited source.

Because of the negative temperatures, there are conditions for the formation of snow, acting with anti-skid material to maintain the viability of the road surface.

Road traffic remains closed until 08:00 on DN 24C, between the towns of Rădăuți Prut and Manoleasa, Botoşani county, due to the blizzard.

Motorists are advised not to start the trip if their vehicles are not equipped with winter tires (for mountainous areas the use of chains is recommended).

They are also advised not to brush the controls of the vehicle and to use the engine brake to reduce speed on a slippery or wet road.

The authorities also say to drive very carefully especially on the roads in the mountain area, where the large amounts of snow on the trees and the strong wind can cause them to break or fall on the road.
