“We have quantity, we need quality!” Costel Gâlcă was not joking. After the statement that made waves at Rapid (at 1-2 with FCSB), Rapid players who are no longer in the coach's view are put on loan.
After the parting with the goalkeeper Franz Stolz, made official today, the right midfielder Rareș Pop reached an agreement with Petrolul, and at the last moment the information appeared that the left defender Robert Bădescu will be loaned to Metaloglobus, according to fanatik.ro.
Gâlcă gets rid of the surplus: Rareș Bădescu, on loan from Rapid to Metaloglobus
Badescu he would be loaned to Metaloglobus until the end of the season, and the newly promoted team will also have the option of a permanent transfer.
The parting with the player comes in the context where he played only 6 matches for Rapid this season. Andrei Borza, the holder of the position, was injured for several months, but Gâlcă preferred to use Răzvan Onea or Christopher Braun in that position.
The appearance of this child, Badescu, made me happy the most. I liked that he played bravely, casually. He is 18 years old and is the reserve of Borza, who is also the same age. We secured the left-back position for a long time.
I don't give advice to the technical staff, but Bădescu is one of the leaders of the youth generation and I really hope to see him play in the championship as well.
– Dan Sucuin January 2024, for GSP
In August 2022, shortly after the management together with the shareholders Dan Șucu and Victor Angelescu announced the objective of building a strong academy, Badescu signed with Rapid along with 13 other promising young people.
The full-back impressed and Cristiano Bergodi promoted him to the first team in the 2023-2024 season. He played 3 matches for Rapid, and was later loaned to CS Mioveni, in League 2.
The same thing will happen now, but Badescu will have a chance to get more minutes in the Superliga.

Badescu's departure could make way for Robert Sălceanu
Robert Sălceanu (21 years old) is the main “export” product of Petrol at the moment. The eligible U21 footballer, although he turns 22 on January 13, is still in the attention of several groups, including Rapid.
There have already been the first contacts between the clubs, it remains to be seen if Bădescu's departure will open the door for Sălceanu to Rapid.
Robert Sălceanu made his debut at Dunărea Călărăsi in League 2, in the 2020-2021 season, and from the beginning of 2022, the left defender arrived at Gloria Buzău, where he performed until the end of the previous season.
Immediately after the relegation of Gloria, Sălceanu signed with Farul, but after only two months, the Romanian defender was officially introduced to Petrolul, for which he collected 14 matches this season in the Superliga, managing to score a goal in the draw with FCSB at the end of November, score 1-1.
