On Wednesday night, the new dress that Aryna Sabalenka will wear at the 2026 Australian Open caused a stir on social media. The WTA number 1 posted a video on her Instagram account, in which she wears a vibrant model that captivated the attention of fans. Black, pink and neon-orange are the predominant colors in the sports outfit.
After her victory against Sorana Cîrstea in Brisbane (6-3, 6-3), she was asked about the inspiration behind her chosen fashion for the first Grand Slam of the year. The answer was nostalgic, to the delight of the fans: Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
“Either it was Serena… or I think it was Maria's collection, a light peach dress. I told the people at Nike that I wanted to bring back those colors and they did it. Now it's my favorite dress,” said Aryna Sabalenka, at the end of the match with Sorana Cîrstea.

Leader in the WTA ranking, Sabalenka is in Brisbane, where she plays in the first tournament of the year. She qualified for the quarter-finals, after the victory over the Romanian Sorana Cîrstea. The player from Belarus will fight for a place in the semifinals with Madison Keys.
Sabalenka is the favorite to win the Australian Open, where she won twice (2023 and 2024). The Melbourne tournament will run from January 18 to February 1.
