Jakob Larsen (51 years old) has been appointed the head coach of the Greenland women's handball team. He aims to achieve a first victory at the World Championship in the coming years.
Jakob Larsen accepted a double role. He remains the coach of the HH Elite club team and will manage the Greenland women's national team. He set himself an audacious goal, a first victory at the world finals.
Greenland has participated in two other editions of the World Championship, in 2001 and 2023. They lost all 12 matches.

The coach born in the small town of Maniitsoq, in Greenland, also has a role model: the national of the Faroe Islands.
“It's a nice feeling to get to the World Championship, but I'd like to win some matches if we still get there. I'm glad to be back home. Larsen wore the jersey of Greenland's first men's handball team 87 times.
He also wants to be in the Danish Parliament
Last year, Jakob Larsen also took the step into politics. He is aiming for a seat in Denmark's Parliament, right at one of the most tense times in the country's recent history.
Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, has recently become a target for Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America.
