Juventus are interested in repatriating Federico Chiesa (28) to Turin, taking advantage of his limited playing time at Liverpool.
Coach Luciano Spalletti (66 years old) considers the Italian striker the ideal partner for Kenan Yildiz (20 years old) in attack and has proposed his acquisition on loan.
Federico Chiesa, wanted back at Juventus
Although Chiesa is in his second year in the Premier League at Liverpool and wants to stay at the Cormorants, the possibility of his return to the Old Lady remains relevant. Juventus maintain their interest, with Spalletti particularly appreciative of the 28-year-old international's qualities.
The first talks between the player and his former team seem to have a positive basis. Chiesa is looking for a more active role in a team as he targets a place in Italy's national team for the 2026 World Cup should the Azzurri qualify. However, the main obstacle in this matter is Liverpool's position.
The Merseyside club have no intention of parting ways with the player, even if he is not a basic option for manager Arne Slot.
Mohamed Salah's absence for the Africa Cup of Nations makes Chiesa's stay even more important. Reports in England and Italy are converging on the idea that Liverpool would only discuss the possibility of a sale, not a loan.
In his four seasons at Juventus, Federico Chiesa made 131 appearances, with a record of 32 goals and 24 assists. With the “Old Lady” he celebrated winning two Italian Cups, even scoring the winning goal in the final against Atalanta, as well as an Italian Super Cup.
This Premier League season, Chiesa has made 15 appearances but started just once, in the 2-1 win over bottom-placed Wolverhampton. The Italian scored his first goals in the Premier League this season with two goals and an assist.
