The Caio Ferreira transfer “telenovela” is about to come to an end. The Brazilian who impressed at FC Arges will sign with Latvians FC Riga, with the deal close to being completed. The 25-year-old winger will get rich at the new team, GSP sources reveal!
FC Argeș, one of the “revelations” of the current season, will soon part ways with the Brazilian Caio, one of the footballers with essential contributions in the successful course of the newly-promoted team this season. The most coveted footballer of the white-violets will arrive at the court of the new Latvian champions, the move being announced by Golazo.ro on Sunday evening.
The people of Pitesti are thus parting ways with the footballer who “bewitched” the fans since his first appearances in this championship. Brought for free from the first league of the Republic of Moldova, from Olimpia Bălți, Caio set the tone in the attack of FC Argeș, scoring three goals and three assists in 18 appearances in the Super League. It had also been wanted in the Arab countries, but the Latvian track was the one that materialized.
FC Argeș will collect around 600-700,000 euros from this transaction.

The patron from Riga also finances Pafos
Caio goes to one of Latvia's powerhouses, Riga FC, crowned domestically for the fourth time in history last season.
Founded in 2014, Riga quickly became one of the powerhouse teams in Latvia. It is owned by the Russian Sergey Lomakin, who is also the financier of the Cypriots from Paphos and who would also own other lower-ranked teams in his portfolio.

Sergey Lomakin, head of Riga FC
According to GSP sources, Lomakin is the one who insisted on securing Caio's services. As the move to Pafos was more complicated to achieve, the Russian businessman will regiment the South American to FC Riga, a club quoted by Transfermarkt at 11 million euros.
Caio would sign a contract valid for the next three seasons, with FC Argeș keeping 20% of a future transfer. At the new club the Brazilian is waiting for a salary worth approximately 20,000 euros per month, much more than the remuneration he had at FC Argeș.
Lomakin, a controversial name
About the Russian millionaire Sergey Lomakin, the Latvian press wrote at one point that he was included in the list of non-grata persons and that he would be banned from entering Latvia, accusations denied by the board of FC Riga.
Lomakin is a controversial name including across the Prut. Libertatea, citing TV8.md, wrote about the oligarch as the beneficiary of a scheme with false birth certificates, he being among the Russian billionaires who applied for Moldovan citizenship immediately after the invasion launched by Putin in Ukraine.
