The crew of a nuclear icebreaker filmed “sea jellied meat”

January 3 17:00

The crew of the nuclear icebreaker “Vaigach” captured a fascinating natural phenomenon in the Kara Sea – large ice floes gently rocking on the waves. The video was published in the Atomflot group.

“Jellied? Aspic? No! The windward edge of the Kara Sea ice? Yes!” — this description accompanies the entry.

As Sever-Press reports, the nuclear-powered icebreaker Vaygach has been operating along the Northern Sea Route for more than 30 years. Its captain is Oleg Khromenkov. The vessel is able to navigate shallow waters and fairways inaccessible to larger icebreakers, which makes it indispensable in Arctic navigation.
