US attack on Venezuela. Polish politicians comment

Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke about the American attack. — We are dealing with an attack by American forces on the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. Indeed, 2026 is starting off strong. There will still be time to analyze how this will affect the situation in our region. An event such as today's US attack on Venezuela affects the entire world, so we will respond and prepare for this new situation, the Prime Minister said on Saturday morning.

Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also reacted to the events in the Western Hemisphere.

“Our services are carefully analyzing the development of events following the night attacks by US forces in the capital of Venezuela. I also asked the Department of Military Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of National Defense and representatives of our military attachats in North and South American countries for ongoing analyses,” he wrote on the website.

“We start 2026 with Donald Trump's airstrikes on Venezuela,” wrote Kamil Wnuk, an MP from Poland 2050.

“President Trump is getting closer to the Nobel Peace Prize. He sees the entire America as a US sphere of influence. Putin sees Eastern Europe, including Poland, in a similar way. A dangerous analogy,” commented MEP Janusz Lewandowski.

“If the United States really limits its involvement in Europe and at the same time 'arranges' the Middle East in a way that gives Israel full freedom of action, similar situations – point-based, demonstrative strikes on the peripheries of the international system – will occur more and more often. The case of Venezuela would not be an exception, but a harbinger of a 'new normality',” wrote Confederation MP Krystian Kamiński.
