In a statement issued Thursday evening, FC Metz announced that one of his academy players, Tahirys Dos Santos, is among those injured in the fire that left at least 47 dead.
According to the bottom-placed club in Ligue 1, the 19-year-old suffered severe burns and was airlifted to a major burns clinic in Germany, where he is currently receiving medical care.

According to L'Équipe, the young player was enjoying a few days of holiday in the mountains with friends, staying at one of their chalets. He was due to resume training on Monday.
