Zelensky invites Trump to Ukraine. “Let him come directly by plane”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that US President Donald Trump's visit to Kiev would be useful, especially if he flew directly to the country whose airspace has been closed since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The European Pravda website reported that Zelensky spoke about it on Tuesday in an online conversation with journalists. He referred to signals from the President of the United States that he is ready to appear before the Ukrainian parliament and come to Ukraine.

I think it will be useful if President Trump can come. He talks about defending the plan to end the war. I told him: you're welcome, we'll be happy to see him,' Zelensky said.

He added that it would be good if the US president flew not to Poland, but directly to Ukraine.

“Because if President Trump, the President of the United States of America, flies to Ukraine – it would be desirable for him to fly not to Poland by plane and then travel by train – but to fly directly to Ukraine – this will prove that we have a real possibility of counting on a ceasefire,” noted the head of the Ukrainian state.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready for Trump's visit at any time when he is ready and when all possibilities are available, including appropriate security conditions.

European Pravda explained that after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the country's airspace was closed and all foreign leaders visiting Ukraine had so far arrived by land from Poland.

President Trump said on Sunday that he does not plan to visit Ukraine, but does not rule it out if it would help reach a peace agreement, the website recalled.
