The year 2025 in defense was a year of key decisions that built the real strength of the state – this is how the Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, summed up the past year in the field of security. 2026 will be a continuation of the largest infrastructure projects related to, among others: with the adoption of F-35 aircraft, he added.

In Wednesday's entry on the X platform summarizing 2025, Kosiniak-Kamysz listed the most important contracts signed and decisions made in the field of defense. “The year 2025 in defense is about key decisions that have built the real strength of the state,” he noted.
Among the contracts and decisions signed and implemented, he mentioned, among others: the third executive agreement related to the acquisition of Polish-made missiles for the Homar-K launcher; The contract signed on Monday provides for the delivery of 10,000. missiles that will be produced in Poland by a Polish-Korean company established in September this year.
The Minister of Defense also recalled the November decision to purchase three modern submarines from Sweden as part of the Orka program – this is currently one of the most important modernization programs of the Polish Navy. The Swedish offer includes the delivery of three A26 Blekinge ships manufactured by the Saab-Kockums shipyard.
Another agreement mentioned by Kosiniak-Kamysz is the intergovernmental agreement with the USA signed in March for the supply of logistics and training elements for the second phase of the Wisła program, which is one of the elements of the multi-layer air defense system being built in the Polish Army.
The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned a number of other signed agreements or annexes, including: for the supply of various types of ammunition, a contract for the supply of medical evacuation vehicles on the KTO Rosomak chassis and a contract for the comprehensive modernization of F-16 aircraft.
2025 – as Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized – will also mean the supply of modern equipment and training of crews and staff. He recalled that F-35 pilots are still being trained in the United States, and Poland has already received the first of the leased AH-64D Apache attack helicopters, which will be used for training.
“A safe Poland is a well-trained and equipped Polish Army, proven alliances, but also the strength of the national community, every single citizen. Building a national community, a military family and taking care of them is one of our tasks,” wrote the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
In this context, Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled the pilot “wReadiness” training, which – as he noted – is the basis for launching universal voluntary training for citizens in 2026. He also mentioned the adopted act on assistance to injured veterans and the Education with the Military program implemented with the Ministry of National Education.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense announced that 2026 “will be a continuation of the largest infrastructure projects related to, among others, the adoption of F-35 aircraft, the expansion of the 1st Missile Brigade (Homar-K) and the 3rd Warsaw Air Defense Missile Brigade (“Wisła” program).”
At the same time, he emphasized that in 2026, work will be carried out on the expansion of military infrastructure, including: in eastern Poland – in Augustów, Łomża, Jarosław, Lublin, Czarna Białostocka Nowa Dęba, Czerwony Bór, Grajewo and Biała Podlaska. “New barracks buildings, garages and renovation halls will be built. Investments in aviation infrastructure will also be carried out in the units in Mirosławiec and Świdwin,” wrote Kosiniak-Kamysz. (PAP)
