Local taxes and fees 2026 Cluj. How much Cluj residents will pay for housing and cars next year

Cluj-Napoca
The Local Council of Cluj-Napoca approved on December 23 the project on local taxes and fees, which brings significant increases for the owners of homes and vehicles, Radio Romania Cluj reports.
Mayor Emil Boc declared that the municipality only applied the increases imposed by law and did not introduce additional quotas, which would put an additional burden on taxpayers.
The mayor stated that in Cluj-Napoca, the minimum rate provided for by law is applied, namely 1% of the value of the buildings.
According to the mayor, the increases in housing taxes are between 58% and 71%, depending on the area.
For example, for a 55 square meter apartment in area A, the annual tax increases from 330 lei to 515 lei; in area B, from 303 lei to 495 lei; and in area C, from 277 lei to 474 lei per year.
And motor vehicle taxes will be adjusted. Hybrid cars will benefit from an exemption of 20%, the maximum limit allowed by the legislation in force. A fixed additional fee of 40 lei will be introduced for electric cars.
The mayor also gave a personal example: for his Euro 4 Peugeot, he will pay 150 lei instead of 80 lei.
