In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a resident of Kansk will stand trial for theft of social assistance funds. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office.

In the fall of 2023, a self-employed 44-year-old resident of Kansk, wanting to receive a one-time payment under a social contract of 350 thousand rubles, decided to deceive that his family was poor.

“By submitting documents to social security, he deliberately ‘cut’ the family income and hid 158 thousand rubles received from cargo transportation. In his calculations, he showed modest figures, but in his application he described a difficult life situation: a disabled child, an unemployed spouse. The only breadwinner in the family wanted to buy a special car for work. Social security employees, unaware of the hidden income, believed this data and approved the social contract. The man’s account received 350 thousand rubles,” the supervisory agency explained.

Later, the man returned the amount and during the investigation admitted guilt, repenting of his crime.

The prosecutor confirmed the charge of fraud in receiving payments under Part 3 of Art. 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The criminal case will be considered by the Kansk City Court.
