Ionuț Radu, among the best goalkeepers in Spain. Unbeatable in long shots, the Romanian tripled his market share in 2025

The year 2025 was a remarkable one for Romanian goalkeeper Ionuț Radu. After a very good first part of the season at Venezia in Serie A, despite the team failing to avoid relegation, Radu continued his journey in LaLiga, signing for Celta Vigo.

In Spain, the goalkeeper quickly established himself as a starter, performing in all the championship matches. The solid performances brought him back to the Romanian national team, where the selector Mircea Lucescu started him in three of the last four games.
His statistics in LaLiga place him among the best goalkeepers in the league
In the 17 games played, Radu kept four clean sheets, including at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid. In addition, Celta Vigo have not conceded a goal in the last three league stages. Radu is the only goalkeeper in the Spanish first league who did not concede a goal from outside the box in the first 17 matches, rejecting all 18 shots from distance by the opponents.
In addition to these achievements, the Romanian goalkeeper also stood out in penalties, being, along with Aaron Escandell from Real Oviedo, the only one who defended two shots from 11 meters. In terms of total number of interventions, Radu ranks fifth in LaLiga with 57 saves, behind Aaron Escandell (84), Sergio Herrera (63), David Soria (59) and Paulo Gazzaniga (59).
His performances are all the more impressive as Radu's save percentage is 75.3%, surpassing world-renowned goalkeepers such as Thibaut Courtois (71.9%), Jan Oblak (66.7%) or Wojciech Szczesny (59.3%).
These developments also brought him a spectacular increase in market share
According to Transfermarkt, at the end of 2024, Ionuț Radu was valued at 1.5 million euros.
After a dream 2025, in which he was a starter in both Serie A and LaLiga, his market value rose to 5 million euros.
