The manager of the famous Crimean safari park “Taigan” was torn to pieces by lions while cleaning the enclosure
Leokadia Perevalova worked in the park for 17 years, was one of the most experienced members of the Taigan team, looked after the predators constantly and, according to colleagues, strictly followed safety precautions. Moreover, she could make complaints if someone, in her opinion, was not careful enough.
In the morning, Leocadia went into the cage with 3 lions to clean, but forgot to close the bolt between the two rooms. One of the predators attacked her and killed her.
The Investigative Committee opened a case regarding violations of labor protection conditions that resulted in the death of a person. Now the park is closed, investigators and criminologists are working there.
