Ionuț Lupescu (57 years old), former emblematic player of Dinamo in the periods 1982-1990 and 1998-2002, currently employed by CS Dinamo Bucharest, spoke about the possibility of an association between FC Dinamo Bucharest and CS Dinamo Bucharest.

The former Romanian international revealed that the officials of the Super League club submitted a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but so far they have not received any response. As a Dynamo supporter, Lupescu says he clearly wants a collaboration between the two entities.

Ionuț Lupescu spoke about the merger: “I want an association”

The former great midfielder of the “dogs” approached the idea of a possible collaboration between the two clubs that bear the name Dinamo:

FC Dinamo submitted a request to the Ministry a few months ago. They still haven't received an answer, several months have passed. I hope that the Ministry, after this partnership with Sector 2 for the stadium, will find solutions and give an answer. As a supporter, I want an association.”

Lupescu emphasized that the idea of having two separate entities under the same name is not beneficial for the club and for the supporters, referring to similar situations in Romanian football:

I have always said that there is only one Dinamo. I didn't like what I saw at FCSB with Steaua, at the two Craioves. This is not our role, to divide. I think we are a special club, with special supporters.”

The former midfielder is optimistic about a possible collaboration, if there is an opening from the Ministry:

If we receive a negotiation mandate from the Ministry, I think the association is feasibleI think that legally an association is also possible”, declared Ionuț Lupescu, for prosport.ro.
