The FCSB midfielders, Mihai Lixandru (24 years old) and Florin Tănase (30 years old), talked about the winter holidays, how they lived Christmas as children, but also about how they spend it now, as professional footballers.
In addition, Lixandru also touched on the subject of a difficult year from a personal point of view, marked by injuries.
Mihai Lixandru, a difficult year 2025: “It was not an easy year”
The champion's midfielder explained that for him Christmas remains, regardless of the schedule, a family celebration, but also a moment of reflection after a complicated year:
“Christmas, every year, I spend with my family, I never leave for Christmas, and then it's normal to go away for a few days, we have to recover physically and mentally after this season. The year 2025 for me was full of everything, I was also injured, I played, and I was injured. It hasn't been an easy year and I'm trying to recover during the holidays and have a better year.”
Lixandru also spoke about the culinary traditions at the Christmas table, but also about his wish for next year:
“Top 3 foods I eat at the Christmas table: Sausages, steak and sausages. We like meat and, of course, the scone, which is very good, but we try to be careful not to gain too many kilos. I've never had a problem with my weight, but I'm generally careful about what I eat and how much I eat.
I hope Santa brings us at least one more trophy next year.”
Florin Tănase: “We couldn't wait for the Christmas meal”
For his part, Florin Tănase, the “decarul” of the red-blues and the second best scorer of the Superliga, with 10 goals, spoke about the emotion of Christmas and the role of the family during this period:
“The wife is in charge of the gifts, she has more time and knows what gifts to buy. When I was little, I couldn't wait for Santa to come and see what he left for us under the tree. After that, in the family, together with my mother, she cooked, did everything and we couldn't wait for the Christmas meal. It's nice, the house is full, the children are small, when you're in the family you're the happiest and most fulfilled.”
FCSB, coming back after a difficult start
After a start to the season considered catastrophic, FCSB managed to tie positive results in the last stages and climbed to 9th place, with 31 points, just two lengths away from 6th place, the last one that ensures presence in the play-offs, a position currently occupied by Oțelul Galati.
