Krasnoyarsk residents were asked whether it is legal to increase the cost of current communication tariffs

The Office of Rospotrebnadzor for the Krasnoyarsk Territory explained to residents the rules according to which mobile operators can raise tariffs unilaterally. The reason was numerous questions about upcoming increases that were received by the department.

Experts confirm that operators do have the right to change the terms of the contract and the cost of services without the consent of the subscriber. However, this right only applies if a key requirement is met.

A promotion is considered legal if the operator notified the client about the upcoming change no later than 10 days before it comes into force. The notification must be sent via SMS or posted publicly on the company’s official website and in its mobile application.

If the subscriber has not received such a warning, the price increase for him will be unlawful. Experts advise Krasnoyarsk residents to regularly check their personal account on the operator’s website, and if in doubt, immediately contact the support service for clarification.
