The greenhouses and solariums of farmers and Romanian households will not be taxed, the Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced on Tuesday, after the Government adopted the so-called train ordinance, which includes several fiscal provisions, and the Executive gave up some provisions in the version subject to public debate. The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, explained that the application of the tax on solariums is being extended until 2027.
“At tonight's government meeting, the Fiscal Code was amended so that buildings that are used as greenhouses, solariums, nurseries, mushroom farms, feed silos, silos and/or barns for grain storage and preservation will continue to be exempt from tax,” Barbu wrote in a post on his Facebook page.
He stated that the Ministry of Finance understood the arguments of the Social Democratic Party and abandoned this measure which did nothing but put “additional pressure on our farmers”.
“I said it and I repeat it: our producers need support, not obstacles through measures that have a very marginal impact on the state's revenues”, Barbu also wrote on the social media page.
