The Krasnoyarsk City Council has decided on the candidacy of a new mayor. He became the ex-chairman of the regional government Sergei Vereshchagin.
Deputies made a choice between two candidates: Head of Government and Head of the Sverdlovsk District of Krasnoyarsk Liliya Nazmutdinova.
It is known that the third candidate was to be City Council deputy from the LDPR Ivan Petrov. During a discussion in the City Council, the head of the governor’s territorial policy department, Vladimir Bogdanov, said that the LDPR candidate had not collected all the necessary documents. In particular, he did not provide information about property, income and property-related liabilities. Vladimir Bogdanov noted that this is a mandatory document when nominating for the post of mayor.
Sergei Vereshchagin was the first to take the podium. He briefly presented the program that he plans to implement as head of the city. In particular, due to municipal reform, Krasnoyarsk will require reconstruction and grade efficiency of all departments. “No one is going to break anything», — assured the candidate.
The second point Sergei Vereshchagin noted was the development of the city’s economy, including the city’s preparation for its 400th anniversary. He suggested involving the townspeople themselves in this work so that they could feel involved. Third block of work — focusing on the interests of residents and solving their requests. This, according to the candidate, includes solving the issue of garbage, the environment, as well as road repairs.
Deputies asked questions about the team, preparations for the city’s anniversary, the metro, gasification of the city, support and re-socialization of SVO participants and attracting federal funds.
Liliya Nazmutdinova in her speech focused on what she and her team managed to do in the Sverdlovsk region. Describing her program, she listed most of the areas of budget support – ecology, social policy, integrated development of districts and municipal infrastructure, waste management. She noted the need for equal development of both banks of the Yenisei and the involvement of residents in the development of the city.
At the end of her speech, Liliya Nazmutdinova expressed support for her opponent Sergei Vereshchagin and expressed her desire to continue working in the city team.
During the discussion, all deputies who spoke noted that the city, on the eve of the 400th anniversary of the city, needs closer interaction with the regional and federal governments and the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Liliya Nazmutdinova does not have such experience.
As a result, 33 deputies cast their votes for Sergei Vereshchagin, and Only one person voted for Liliya Nazmutdinova. Sergei Vereshchagin will take office on December 25 at 12:00 in the Oval Hall of the Krasnoyarsk City Hall.
