On Sunday, another round of talks between US and Ukrainian envoys took place in Miami, Florida, regarding ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. A joint statement by American and Ukrainian negotiators appeared on social media by Steve Witkoff and Rustem Umerov just before 21 Polish time. The US special envoy published them in English on the official profile on the X website.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine published an identical message in Ukrainian on his profile on the X website.

“Over the last three days in Florida, the Ukrainian delegation held a number of productive and constructive meetings with American and European partners,” the statement reads.

Then it was recalled that Ukraine was represented by Rustem Umerov and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Hnatov. In turn, the Americans have special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and White House employee Josh Gruenbaum.

“Key national security advisers from European countries also joined the talks to agree on a common strategic approach of Ukraine, the United States and Europe,” the negotiators point out.

The statement said that a “constructive U.S.-Ukraine meeting was also held separately, during which the main attention was focused on four key documents: further development of the 20-point plan; agreeing on positions on the Multilateral Framework Agreement on Security Guarantees; agreeing on positions on the U.S. Bilateral Agreement on Security Guarantees; and further developing the economic development plan (Prosperity Plan).”

The announcement reads that “particular attention was paid to discussing the time frame and the sequence of further steps.”

At the same time, the document assured that “Ukraine remains fully committed to achieving a just and lasting peace.”

“Our common priority is to stop the killing, achieve guaranteed security and create conditions for the reconstruction, stability and long-term prosperity of Ukraine,” it says. “Peace must be not only an end to hostilities, but also a worthy foundation for a stable future,” it added.

At the end, both posts read that “Ukraine highly values ​​the United States' leadership and support and continued close coordination with partners in the next stages of this important work.”
