Attack in Moscow. A Russian general died in a car explosion

Major General Fanil Sarvarov, responsible for the training system of the Russian army, died on Monday morning as a result of the explosion of an improvised explosive device hidden in the car in which the soldier was driving, the Russian Investigative Committee reported, quoted by Reuters.


The vehicle's driver, Sarwarov, was seriously injured and died after being taken to hospital.
According to the Investigative Committee, a 17-year-old resident of Moscow was responsible for preparing the attack. He was allegedly acting on behalf of the Ukrainian secret services and was arrested shortly after the attack. According to preliminary arrangements, he was to prepare an explosive charge based on instructions received via one of the instant messengers, and then install it under the vehicle in which Sarvarov was traveling.
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the perpetrator was to receive PLN 50,000 for carrying out the attack. rubles (approx. PLN 2.3 thousand).
Sarvarov served as head of the Directorate for Military Preparation in the Russian Ministry of Defense. Previously, he took part in armed conflicts in Ossetia and Ingushetia, Chechnya and Syria. (PAP)
