Our migration policy is effective, wrote Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski on the X website. He was referring to the pouring of red paint over the Polish consulate. Offensive slogans referring to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border were written on the building's facade.

On the night from Thursday to Friday, the entrance of the Polish consulate, located in a side street in the Etterbeek district in the south-east of Brussels, was covered with red paint. The Polish emblem above the entrance door was also destroyed, and the perpetrators wrote the word “killers” on the board informing that the building is the seat of the consulate. “F**k the wall” was also written on the wall in Polish, as well as other vulgar slogans attacking the EU border agency Frontex and calling for the opening of borders. These – as PAP found out – were written in “broken” English.

“Someone doesn't like the finished wall on the Polish-Belarusian border. This means that our migration policy is effective. Thank you to the Border Guard. You protect Poland and Europe from people who respect us as in the picture,” Radosław Sikorski wrote on the X website, also adding a photo of the consulate covered in paint.

The case of the attack on the Polish consulate was investigated by the Belgian police. According to RMF FM radio, which was the first to report on the case, the secured surveillance footage shows three or four masked perpetrators devastated the building and a person recording the incident on a phone.

The paint and lettering have already been removed.
