According to the District of Columbia District Attorney's Office, 25-year-old Eric Cowell hacked the SEC's social media account back in January and posted a fake post about Bitcoin, which temporarily increased its price by $1,000.
After the hack, he started doing Google searches for “how can I tell if the FBI is following me” and “what are the signs that I’m under investigation by law enforcement or the FBI, even if they haven’t contacted me.”
