Americans do not relent in their efforts. A Peace Council for the Gaza Strip is to be established

Witkoff published on the X platform a joint statement of the parties participating in Friday's meeting in Miami, which announced that their talks concerned the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and preparations for the second phase.
It stressed that the first phase had brought progress, including increased humanitarian assistance, the return of hostage bodies, a partial withdrawal of forces and a reduction in the number of clashes between the sides.
Also discussed were: regional integration measures, including trade facilitation, infrastructure development, cooperation on energy, water and other resources, which are necessary for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, regional stability and long-term prosperity.
Support was expressed for the establishment and launch of a Peace Council soon as a transitional administration dealing with civilian aspects of security and reconstruction.
Commitment to President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan was reaffirmed and called on all parties to respect their commitments, exercise restraint and cooperate with those monitoring the process. Further consultations on the implementation of phase two are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

The second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas includes the withdrawal of the army from part of the territory of the Strip and the deployment of the international stabilization force (ISF) there.
The governing structures in the Strip are to be headed by a Peace Council chaired by Trump, which will include about 10 leaders from Arab and Western countries, US officials previously reported. Trump announced that he plans to announce the establishment of the Peace Council early next year.
Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan
Donald Trump's peace plan assumes a number of actions aimed at stabilizing the Gaza Strip. These include the deployment of the International Stabilization Force, which would maintain peace and train the Palestinian police. According to the concept, Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups would lay down their weapons and power in the region would be transferred to an interim Palestinian administration under international supervision.
In addition, the plan provides for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, including the creation of special economic zones. One of the key assumptions is also the liquidation of Hamas' military infrastructure, including tunnels and weapons warehouses.
