Journalists in Greece are jubilant after thriller match between AEK Athens and Craiovascore 3-2, in which the Oltenians led until the 90th + 8th minute, but lost the game and missed the qualification.
In the material posted by the Greeks immediately after the final whistle, they did not focus much on the victory of the hosts, but on what the result means for the economy of the UEFA ranking, where they are fighting a fierce battle with the Poles.

“AEK made history at the OPAP Arena, where they pulled off an incredible comeback against Craiova, giving Greece a wonderful gift for the UEFA Qualifiers.
AEK pulled off an epic comeback against Craiova and in doing so gave Greece a very important gift as far as the UEFA Rankings are concerned. More precisely, through this result, UEFA gave our country, on the one hand, 400 points from the great victory and, on the other hand, another 700 thanks to its ranking in the Conference League.
However, this gift was not enough. The Poles had four teams in the competition and all – except Jagiellonia – achieved victories. Even the latter, of course, brought an equal, and their harvest was higher”, noted the Greeks from sportal.gr.
