Alexandra Egorova, a WWII participant from Krasnoyarsk, turns 97 years old

Today celebrates its 97th anniversary resident of the Central district of Krasnoyarsk, participant in the Great Patriotic War and honorary citizen of the city Alexandra Ivanovna Egorova.

The administration staff congratulated the woman on her birthday, wishing her good health, family well-being and support from loved ones.

Alexandra Ivanovna was 16 years old when she voluntarily went to the front in a women’s regiment, helping to rescue and evacuate wounded soldiers.

“She completed her combat career in East Prussia, where she met her future husband, officer Mikhail Andreevich. Together they lived in love and harmony for 64 years, raised a daughter, and had a grandson and great-granddaughter. After the war, the family worked hard in Chukotka and Norilsk, and since 1970 in Belogorsk,” the administration said.

Alexandra Ivanovna was awarded the Zhukov medal, anniversary Victory medals and the “Front-line soldier 1941-1945” badge.
