Akhmetov's Metinvest is launching gas generation at the Northern GZK: half a billion hryvnias have been invested in it.
Two generators out of four planned have already been launched: they generated 1,040 MWh in 2 months, and enabled the company to save UAH 2.3 million. 2 more installations will be launched soon.
The generators are turned on during peak hours, when market electricity is more expensive.
Metinvest's focus is not only on gas: the company also invests in launching solar plants at its enterprises. In total, in 3-4 years, Metinvest plans to provide 50% of its own electricity needs.
“You need to have your own energy sources to stop without accidents, and to start quickly and without losses,” the company says.
