Putin instructed to submit proposals for the creation of a park-museum of Arctic exploration in Krasnoyarsk

“The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the executive bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the territories or parts of the territories of which are part of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian public organization “Russian Geographical Society”, and submit proposals: for the creation of a park-museum of Arctic exploration in Krasnoyarsk on Molokov Island, its acquisition and financing,” the order says.

Let us remind you that the location for the museum has not been chosen. by chance: it was on Veal Island, later renamed in honor of the legendary pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Sergeevich Molokov, that the hydraulic base of the Krasnoyarsk aviation detachment of the Main Northern Sea Route and aircraft workshops were located. From this place in Krasnoyarsk, the aerial exploration of the Arctic began. The Abakan channel of the Yenisei served as a runway for seaplanes. Krasnoyarsk became the main base of polar aviation – the “gateway of the Far North,” as polar pilots called it.

The head of state also instructed to submit proposals for involving the Russian Geographical Society in the implementation of programs for the integrated development of the territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
