Krasnoyarsk became the main base of polar aviation – the “gateway of the Far North,” as polar pilots called it.

The head of state also instructed to submit proposals for involving the Russian Geographical Society in the implementation of programs for the integrated development of the territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
