The Galatians opened the scoring in the 17th minute, through Nuno Pedro, who completed a quick action, and the decisive shot came at the end. In the 80th minute, Paul Iacob scored for 2-0, setting the final score in front of an unresponsive Rapid.
At the end of the game, Joao Lameira (26 years old), one of the highlights of the Steel and a player on FCSB's radar, spoke about the success in Giulesti, but also about his future:
Joao Lameira, clear message about FCSB's interest: “Important is the shirt on me”
“We deserved the win. If we show fear, they will come at us, but if we play our game, we will leave happy. We showed that we were better today and we deserved the victory. We all ran and fought.
Both goals were important. The important thing is to win, not who scores or how.
Yes, the play-off is one of our goals in the dressing room and we will fight to achieve it. If we play without fear, we can beat any team in the league because we have quality,” Lameira told Prima Sport.
“I'm ready for the next step”
Lameira also commented on the interest coming from other directions, including the Super League:
“I'm glad to be wanted by other teams, but my thought is here. I still have a year and a half left on my contract, but we'll see. I'll do my best while I'm here. I don't want to talk about the interest of the teams.
I'm 26, so I'm ready. If something good happens in my career, I'm ready,” says Lameira.
Denis Bordun, the man of the match: “The secret is work”
One of the big winners of the evening was Denis Bordun (20 years old), the youngster from Oțel, named man of the match.
We went through a tough game, but we got the 3 points. We work every day in training and it showed today in the match. Rapid is a good team, but we are happy that we managed to win. The secret is hard work and what we do in training. Last season I played in League 3 in Brăniștea and now I'm glad that I made the step to League 1 and returned to Oțelul
