Preliminary results of the investigation into the crash of the AZAL plane near Aktau in Kazakhstan have been published. One of the reasons for the tragedy is the loss of hydraulic fluid due to through-through damage to the side. Most of them are in the fin and stabilizer.
The transcript of conversations between the crew and dispatchers indicates that the pilots initially spoke about a bird strike and an explosion in the area of the seats in the cabin. Then the alarm went off and the autopilot turned off. 25 seconds later the second blow occurred.
Shortly before the crash, the aircraft commander also reported that oxygen was running out in the passenger cabin – because of this, they thought that the oxygen tank had exploded.

I don’t understand why the crew consistently refused to land in Min Vody, then in Makhachkala, then in Baku, then in Aktau if they were obliged to land at the first nearest suitable airfield
