On the afternoon of December 12 in Krasnoyarsk, on Shchorsa Street, an 11-year-old girl was hit by a car.
As the traffic police said, the schoolgirl was returning from classes and decided to run across the road in the courtyard of her house, but did not look around and was not convinced that there was no danger. Running out from behind a parked car, the girl was hit by a Subaru car driven by a 33-year-old woman who did not notice the pedestrian.
“An ambulance team quickly arrived at the scene and took the child to the hospital. Fortunately, serious injuries were avoided,” the traffic police said.
After another case of haste, which could have turned into a tragedy, traffic police called on parents to regularly talk to their children about safe behavior on the roads and monitor their movement on the city streets. Drivers are reminded of the need to be especially careful in residential areas and yards, slow down and be prepared for an emergency stop when children appear.
