The coach of the FC Rapid football team, Constantin Gâlcă, said on Friday, in a press conference, that Oțelul Galați, the opponent in the 20th stage of the Superliga, has the fourth defense in the championship, and in the direct match it is important that his players are effective in front of the goal.
“Steel is a well-organized team, if I'm not mistaken they have the fourth defense in the Superliga. It's important for us to be efficient in front of goal. We want this game to have more inspiration in finishing. We want to play a good game, score and win this game because we need points. We want to give the fans a win in this last home game to thank them for their help this year. Because they were with us everywhere. I'm happy with the team, I'm happy with many moments in the game because otherwise I wasn't in first place now”, said the technician, according to Agerpres.
Gâlcă told Claudiu Petrila to stop apologizing for the empty net miss in the match with FC Botoșani because such things happen in football.
“I told Petrila to stop apologizing after the Botoșani miss, that's how football is. He gave everything on the pitch, he played a very good match, and in these conditions why are you apologizing? He was simply not inspired then. In football it happens. We trust him and I'm sure he can score tomorrow too. We practice the finishes every week, but it's important that the solutions the players take are the correct. You seek your luck through the work you put in,” explained the coach.
The French striker Antoine Baroan is excluded from the squad for an indefinite period, the Rapid technician also announced.
“Baroan is still out of the team. No, it was nothing serious. To give you details… He didn't do the right thing in training, it wasn't the first time, and then… But he didn't have any discussion with me about the fact that he is not a starter. For me, all the players are starters and can play. Baroan is not on the first offense and it is over with me from this moment. If he made a mistake, and it is not the first time, then he will not enter the team. He is preparing separately”, he stated Gâlcă.
Asked what he thinks about the law that forces clubs to have 40% Romanian players in a team, Constantin Gâlcă replied: “I say that the teams that promote young Romanians should be rewarded. This is how I see this situation, it should not be imposed, the clubs should not be sanctioned.”
The FC Rapid football team meets the Oțelul Galați team, on Saturday, at 20:30, at the Giulești Stadium in the Capital, in a match counting for the 20th stage of the Superliga.
