A court in Achinsk sentenced a former traffic police inspector who, instead of drawing up a report for a violation, offered the driver to “resolve the issue” for money. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
In April 2025, an inspector stopped the driver of a Gazelle NEXT who was overtaking across a solid line on the Achinsk-Krasnoyarsk highway. Instead of drawing up a report on the violation, which would result in a fine of 7.5 thousand rubles or deprivation of rights, the traffic police officer offered to resolve the situation on the spot.

The driver, wanting to avoid punishment, gave him all the available cash – 3.4 thousand rubles, doing this under the guise of a handshake. However, having driven away from the place, he regretted what he had done and immediately went to the police, where he voluntarily spoke about giving a bribe.
The former inspector denied his guilt during the investigation and in court, claiming that the driver was “slandering” him out of resentment over the “preventative conversation.” The court, however, did not take these arguments into account.
The man was found guilty of accepting a bribe and abuse of power. As punishment, he was given a fine of 200 thousand rubles. The injured driver was released from criminal liability for giving a bribe in connection with voluntarily reporting the crime and actively contributing to solving the case.
