The Krasnoyarsk Railway has a special operating mode due to severe frosts

A special operating mode has been established on the Krasnoyarsk Mainline due to abnormally low air temperatures in the regions of Siberia.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, within the boundaries of the Krasnoyarsk Railway, the lowest temperature over the past three days was recorded at Pirovskaya and Shchetinkino stations, where the thermometer dropped to -42°C, as well as in Bogotol (-39°C) and Kansk (-37°C).
In the Kemerovo region – at Tisul (-39°C) and Mariinsk (-38°C) stations.
In general, stable frosts of about -30°C are recorded on all sections of the highway in the service regions. In such extreme conditions, all systems and mechanisms of railway transport are subject to maximum load – the metal shrinks from the cold. Therefore, to ensure the safety of train traffic on Krasnodar Railways, intensive round-the-clock monitoring of the state of the infrastructure is carried out.
The control is carried out using specialized complexes: diagnostic track measuring cars and flaw detector cars, an automation and telemechanics laboratory car run along the highway.
More than 200 railway workers are involved in daily track inspections. At the same time, constant monitoring of the condition of power equipment is carried out – transformers, cable lines, contact networks, automation and communication devices.
All employees working outdoors are provided with winter overalls, insulated shoes and frostbite protection. More than 800 heating points are open for them on remote stretches.
Train traffic on the Krasnoyarsk Railway is carried out as usual.
