It indicates that road projects financed under the loan will increase the carrying capacity of road infrastructure and improve its quality and resistance to climate change. In addition, the external effects of transport, such as road accidents, noise and air pollution, will be reduced.
The European Investment Bank cooperates with Poland
The European Investment Bank, which is the financial arm of the European Union, is intended to support the implementation of EU policies and priorities by providing long-term project financing, providing guarantees and advice. The bank focuses on projects that contribute to economic growth, employment, social cohesion and environmental sustainability, with particular emphasis on climate action, technological innovation and infrastructure development.
The EIB operates on market principles, obtaining most of its funds on capital markets, and its shareholders are EU Member States.

The EIB's cooperation with Poland is very intense. Over the last 20 years, over EUR 85 billion has been invested in Poland, mainly in road and railway infrastructure. It supports projects in Poland that accelerate the green transformation, stimulate innovation, strengthen energy security and defense, and support regional cohesion.
Examples of cooperation include financing the construction of offshore wind farms, investments in renewable energy sources, and recently also a loan to Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego for the first Polish Earth observation satellite system. The EIB cooperates with Polish commercial banks and institutions such as BGK to reach a wider audience with financing, including small and medium-sized enterprises.
