“Planned flyby.” An An-22 heavy plane crashed near Moscow


There were seven people on board, the agency claims, citing operational services. Rescuers are heading to the crash site.

The crash occurred in the area of ​​the Uvodsky reservoir in the Ivanovo region; fragments of the plane have allegedly already been found on the water, TASS writes. The plane was making a scheduled flight after repairs, the report said.

The Mash Telegram channel, collaborating with Russian security forces, writes that the crew of the crashed An-22 was previously killed. The last time the plane made contact was at 11 a.m. local time.

In March 2024, a military transport Il-76 already crashed in the Ivanovo region. Then 15 people died (8 crew members and 7 passengers).

According to specialized websites, the An-22 can transport 290 soldiers, 206 wounded, 151 paratroopers, a medium tank (T-55, T-62), up to four armored infantry vehicles, as well as almost all types of front-line aircraft and helicopters. Capable of parachute-dropping equipment and weapons weighing up to 22 tons.
