Anca Alexandrescu, the candidate supported in the elections by AUR, voted on Sunday morning and made her first statements upon leaving the polls.

“Let's make a city where we can live and allow us to live. We came with faith, with gratitude for everything we have experienced in these weeks, what I have received during this period is a gift, it is the experience of my life so far and I have emotions. I am convinced that we will be able to do justice in Bucharest. I have faith that God will not leave us and, together with the citizens of Bucharest, we will put Bucharest first and we will do justice”. declared Anca Alexandrescu upon leaving the polls.

17 candidates entered the race for the Capital City Hall, but two of them – Vlad Gheorghe and Eugen Teodorovici – announced their withdrawal from the race. Gheorghe urged his supporters to vote for the PNL candidate, Ciprian Ciucu, while the former finance minister declared his support for the social democrat Daniel Băluță. However, as they have not announced their decision by the withdrawal deadline, the two will appear on the ballot and their votes will be counted.
