After a missing young woman was found in Italy, all attention shifted to a Romanian: “The strong mutual feelings between Tatiana and I prevented me from fully understanding the consequences”

The disappearance last month of Tatiana Tramacere, a psychology student very active on social networks, was reported by her parents, Ornella and Rino, four days after they last contacted her, writes the newspaper Corriere della Sera. The investigation immediately led the carabinieri to Dragos Gheormescu, the last person who saw the girl alive, on the evening of November 24. Three days ago, she was found unharmed.

“She was the one who organized everything and she asked me to help her because she said I was the only person she trusted. She told me she was feeling depressed and wanted to cut herself off from the world for a while, just a few days, and then she was going to go home.” This is the version that her 30-year-old friend, Dragos Ioan Gheormescu, gave on Thursday evening to the carabinieri, where he was questioned before and after Tatiana Tramacere, the missing girl since November 24, was found in his house in Nardò. This version was also confirmed by Tatiana herself, who returned home on the night of December 4-5 after undergoing tests at a hospital in Lecce.

“The strong mutual feelings between Tatiana and I, strengthened by our cohabitation, prevented me from fully understanding the consequences, including those of a public nature, of our affair, which, I repeat, was mutually agreed upon,” he said in a public statement, apologizing to the girl's parents, the investigators and the entire community of Nardò.

Dragos also revealed that he tried to convince Tatiana to end the relationship, given the scandal their affair was causing. When the police entered Dragos' house, they did not immediately find Tatiana because, according to reports, she was not in the apartment, but had hidden in the dark in an attic, which can be freely accessed from the building's terrace. According to the conclusions of the police investigation following the disappearance of the girl on November 24, Dragos and Tatiana had a relationship.

The two were caught on surveillance cameras kissing in Raho Park – where Dragos works in a bar – and then entering the building where the young man lives. Tatiana was never seen leaving the building after that. The young man allegedly told the police that the girl was going through a difficult period, partly for health reasons. “I didn't do anything,” she reportedly told police, scared, when they found her.
